Opening Prayer
Gather as a family or individually. Light a white candle.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, who instructed the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit,
grant that in the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation.

Reflection
The seventh gift from our True Love (God) is seven swans a-swimming, symbolizing the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord — and often linked to the seven sacraments as channels of these graces.
- Swans embody majesty, grace, and purity, gliding effortlessly on water — evoking the Holy Spirit hovering over the waters (Genesis 1:2) and descending as a dove at Christ's baptism.
- These gifts perfect our souls, enabling us to live as God's children; the sacraments pour them forth abundantly.
As the year ends on this vigil of Mary's solemnity, pray for a renewed outpouring of the Spirit to guide the new year.
